María Teresa Toral (1911-1994), Pharmacy and Chemistry University Degree, was known for her precision determining molecular and atomic weights, thanks to construction of her own equipment. Once Spanish Civil War starts, she stays on Republican side and uses her knowledge to make explosives. After several years on a Francoist prison, she keeps her political commitment working clandestinely on a pharmacy. In her second trial, while facing the death penalty, she was saved thanks to a extraordinary international protest on her favour. Exiled to Mexico, she continued her extraordinary work on research and developed her career as a prestigious engraving artist.
