Portrait of the Spanish scientist Miguel Catalán Sañudo (1894-1957), sentenced to internal exile by the Franco regime.
This work is inspired on Spanish Civil War posters by Carles Fontseré, Helios Gómez and Lorenzo Goñi, with remembrances to style and graphic techniques of their period. Main focal point wants to be the absent gaze of the man, stripped away from his life, creating a sense of contrast with the propaganda appearance of the poster. His expression symbolizes lost humanity on war and dictatorship context. Small birds longing the horizon depicts his eyes.
