Illustrated tribute to biologist Odón de Buen (1863-1945), Spanish Oceanography founder and an early disseminator of Darwin´s theory of evolution in Spain. He published a complete Natural History (Zoology, Botany and Geology) which was included on forbidden books index by Catholic Church. De Buen exiled himself first to France and later to Mexico, where he died in 1945. His figure was relegated to oblivion on Francoist period.
