Gregorio Marañón (1887-1960) fought against Primo de Rivera dictatorial regime, supported second republic arrival, although later he questioned it, expressing publicly his rejection to crimes made by both sides during Spanish Civil War, what forced his exile to France and to travel across Latin America. He was among first scientist who studied endocrinology in-depth, finding its connection with psychology when linking physiological processes with adrenaline release in the body. His studies focused mainly in sexuality, sexual growth and thyroidal disorders. He also was a great essayist and a curious man who wrote almost about everything, he was president of the Ateneo of Madrid and member on 5 of 7 Royal Spanish Academies on his period.
